i. History of the Institution
Pailan College of Education was established in October, 2009 in Bengal Pailan Park off Diamond Harbour Road near Indian Institute of Management Joka, Kolkata by Mr. Apurba Saha, the Chairman of Pailan Group of Institute. It started functioning from the session 2009-2010. The Institute is recognised by NCTE, New Delhi and up to 11th February, 2016 it was affiliated to Calcutta University and now it is affiliated to West Bengal University of Teacher Training Education Planning and Administration as per the West Bengal State Government orders.
Amidst lush green, pollution free environment the Institution honestly and sincerely ensures the inculcation of value education and makes the students knowledgeable and makes sensitive to cater to the diverse students needs. It is easily accessible by bus and auto and the metro rail project is going on to be completed soon. A number of buses from different corners of Kolkata are plying near Pailan Hat.
With four-storied well structured building Pailan College of Education endeavours to prepare the world class teachers who will contribute to the personality development of the future citizens of the society. Use of innovative teachings and healthy practices make the student-teachers really responsible nation-builders in their own classroom teachings.
We are providing our student-teachers with excellent support systems like ICT room, overhead projector in every classroom, coffee stall with snacks, Cafeteria for students and staff. All the classrooms are air conditioned and there are equipped psychology lab, Work Experience Room, Language lab, three science laboratories, well equipped Library, aqua guard and water cooler in every floor, etc. Two big computer labs with more than 50 computers provide learning and Internet facilities to students.
Located amidst sylvan surroundings Pailan College of Education provides challenging creative atmosphere to explore and nurture knowledge in more effective ways. The community outreach programmes enrich and prepare our students as value-oriented teachers.

The college endeavours to offer fundamental and tailor made training programme to suit the needs of the prospective teachers through Integral Pedagogy comprising context,experience, reflection, action and evaluation so that they mature as motivated teachers who besides being intellectually proficient, will have a strong moral armour and steadfast social commitment to emerge as catalysts of change and mould the destiny of the Indian classrooms in the times to come.

v. Contributions in the field of education
In appreciation of our academic standards, the Government of West Bengal had given us the responsibilty of transacting the B.Ed Curriculum to one hundred (100) in-service teachers in association with Netaji Subhash Open University in 2013.
In 2017, The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has entrusted us with the responsibilty of transacting the D.El.Ed. Curriculum to one hundred (100) in-service para-teachers.
By churning out trained professionals who prior to their appointment had not got the opportunity to enroll themselves for teacher-training programmes, Pailan College of Education has been making significant contribution in the field of education, and it endeavours to continue doing so.
